Our emergency room is open 24 hours a day 365 days a year and ALWAYS staffed with highly qualified veterinarians and technicians. Our veterinarians most often see cats and dogs but are also available to stabilize birds, small mammals and even reptiles!

Meet our ER Doctors

If your pet has an emergency you want the best care, even if it's 3:00 in the morning. We staff our hospital with some of the best doctors around so that you don't have to worry, even when most other people are asleep.







Dr. Tanya Kim

Dr. Tanya Strickland (Kim), DVM  

Dr. Tanya Strickland is originally from New Jersey but studied veterinary medicine at Iowa State's School of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include emergency medicine, exotics, anesthesia and pain management. Dr. Strickland has authored veterinary articles about trauma, including coyote attacks. Dr. Strickland loves the outdoors and spends her free time hiking with her German Shepherd, Lola.







Dr. Megan McGregor

Dr. Megan McGregor, DVM  

Dr. McGregor received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, Alabama. Her free time interests include: world travel, playing guitar and ukulele and following Clemson football (go Tigers!). Dr. McGregor's four-legged family includes Guster, a border collie mix and Maggie May, a Siamese mix. Like Dr. McGregor, both of her pets had a broken left arm and Maggie May's was fixed by our own surgeon, Dr. Preston Stubbs. She would like to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine.







Dr. Jasmine Tom

Dr. Jasmine Tom, DVM  

Dr. Jasmine Tom received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Tom shares her home with various pets: Tucker, a hound mix, ferrets, chinchillas and various reptiles. She enjoys traveling, hiking and photography in her spare time. Dr. Tom would like to practice in the general veterinary field in the future.







Dr. Megan Russell

Dr. Megan Russell, DVM  

Dr. Megan Russell, a newlywed, received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Notre Dame. She then completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in College Station, Texas. In her spare time Dr. Russell enjoys pilates, playing soccer, oil painting, traveling, spending time outdoors and of course spending time with her husband. They have a two year old tabby cat named Pocket. Dr. Russell plans on practicing general veterinary medicine.







Dr. Scott Vander Ploeg

Dr. Scott Vander Ploeg, DVM  

Dr. Vander Ploeg was born and raised in Bellingham, Washington and graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, Washington. Dr. Vander Ploeg enjoys playing guitar, hiking, skiing, live music and spending time with his 4 year old daughter, family and friends. He has two furry four-legged canine companions named Jay and Cody who enjoy accompanying him on hikes in the beautiful Colorado mountains. Dr. Vander Ploeg would like to pursue a residence in Opthamology.







Dr. Brian Zulaft

Dr. Brian Zulaft, DVM  

Dr. Brian Zulauf graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Corvallis, Oregon. He enjoys biking, hiking, brewing beer, camping, traveling and exploring our beautiful state of Colorado. Dr. Zulauf resides with his two pet rabbits: Ember and Multnomah Fats. He would like to pursue a residency in Cardiology in the future.
