Animal Hospital Specialty Center is committed to giving back to the community, both our local community and to the veterinary community as a whole. Locally, our staff members are involved in several outreach projects. We are currently working with Denver Dumb Friends League to provide emergency care for newly adopted pets. We also provide discounted treatment for Greenwood Village Police Department's canine officers.
Zoo programs provide critical public educational programs about conservation, environmental impact of human development and animal welfare. We feel strongly that zoo animals have access to premier veterinary medical care as they continue give so much to back the community. We work very closely with the Denver Zoo, a non-profit organization, providing specialized surgical services support to those animals in need. Animal Hospital Specialty Center has performed CT scans in Komodo dragons, surgery in flamingos and even repaired the broken leg in a bear. We look forward to continuing this vital community service for years to come.
Nationally, our dentist, Dr. Ed. Eisner works with the Peter Emily Foundation to provide dental care to exotic animals in zoos and wild animal parks. Additionally, Dr. Preston Stubbs, our surgeon, is working with Kyon, a medical implant company, to pioneer new orthopedic surgical procedures.
Finally, we have a veterinary medical internship program to provide additional education to veterinarians who wish to pursue careers in various specialties.
